Brewed just like they did in 19th Century Dortmund, Germany, a working-class city in the heart of their coal-mining and industrial Ruhr District. Beer expert Horst Dornbusch wrote, “With a substantial flavor and mouthfeel…a solid beer for a solid breed of people.” Maltier and darker than Pilsener, with a juicy hop balance. Extra hard, mineral-rich water lends more bitterness and a drier finish.
